4 Secrets To Becoming Famous Via Social Media

In today’s world of technology, social media reigns. From Twitter to Facebook to Instagram, most of us use these social media outlets on a daily basis – maybe even a little too often. Other outlets like Google+, LinkedIn, and Pinterest shouldn’t be overlooked either. All of these outlets further our connections to people around the world which is more so than anyone could have ever imagined. With the press of a button, a single tweet or photo can be sent to millions of people from all over the world, making it easier than ever to share your thoughts with others. We’ve heard of people becoming “YouTube famous” or even “Instagram famous” – people who became famous purely through what they’ve shared through these social media outlets.

So how do they do it? Do they make use of social media companies, like many businesses? How did they gain so many “followers” and how to they retain interest? Whether you’re simply looking to use social media as a hobby or to improve your business, below are four secrets everyone can make use of regardless of how they want to use social media.

Identify Your Passion

It’s important that your social media accounts are consistent in the point you’re trying to get across. For example, a business that is looking to benefit from Twitter should tweet and retweet things that pertain to their industry. Identify your exact angle or industry and reach out to others in the same boat. Essentially, you want to become a thought leader in your industry

Understand Marketing

A great social media company understands marketing and this is important for anyone looking to benefit from social media needs to understand as well.  This means you need to understand your audience and what demographics you will appeal to, including age, gender, and location. By understanding your audience, you can then identify your voice – whether it’s humorous, informative, etc.

Create Original Content

People look for originality and creativity in the social media accounts that interest them. This means that you should always create your own content and don’t be afraid to get creative. Whether you’re creating YouTube videos or blogging, try new things that no one has ever done before in the hopes that it will go viral. Content is king and it’s important to thrive to be the best in what you specialize in.

Be Proactive

When it comes to social media, you must be proactive. Maintain an active account and update frequently. Be proactive when it comes to reaching out to others. Facebook, tweet, pin, and blog on a regular basis to attract a regular audience, as well as new potential followers.

Keep in mind that not every social media outlet is ideal for every person or business. For example, Pinterest may not be extremely beneficial for industries outside the fashion, home décor, baking, and crafting industries but would be ideal for looking to promote their fashion brand. By first identifying your passion, understanding marketing and then creating original content and remaining proactive online, you will begin to attract followers.
